Did Israel Develop a Coronavirus Vaccine?

A report states scientists at Israel’s Institute for Biological Research had a vital breakthrough in the production of antibodies for the outcome of a vaccine.
The “monoclonal neutralizing antibody” formed at the Israel Institute for Biological Research (IIBR) “can negate it (the disease-causing coronavirus) inside carriers’ bodies,” Defence Minister Naftali Bennett said.

Israeli efforts were led by IIBR to produce a treatment as well as a vaccine for the coronavirus, by analyzing of blood from those who bounced back from COVID-19.

The antibody isolated at the IIBR is monoclonal, meaning it was derived from a single recovered cell. Thus making it a more potent value in yielding a treatment.

“I am proud of the Biological Institute staff, who have made a breakthrough,” Defence Minister Naftali Bennett shared. “The Jewish creativity and ingenuity brought about this amazing achievement,” he added.

The institute will get the antibodies patented. Israeli daily Ha’aretz, quoting medical sources, reported on Thursday that scientists at Israel’s Institute for Biological Research, supervised by the Prime Minister’s office have recently had a significant breakthrough in understanding the biological mechanism and qualities of the virus, including better diagnostic capability, production of antibodies for those who already have the virus and development of a vaccine.

All we can anticipate is we get a vaccine promptly. The world is in this together. Though even if the scientists develop a vaccine soon. This will still take months to be accessible to every citizen in India. Until then, we need to be careful and follow safety protocols. Together we can win this.
