The 72nd Primetime Emmy Awards, which was going to be held initially at Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, but due to the current COVID-19 Pandemic, it has been shifted to a virtual platform which will be held on September 20, 2020.

The 2020 Emmy awards will honor the best in the U.S. flourishing television programming starting from June 1, 2019, until May 31, 2020, as chosen by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. Awards will be broadcasted in the U.S. by ABC. It will be preceded by the 72nd Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards on September 12th and 13th.

The Emmy Awards 2020 was announced by Leslie Jones, Laverne Cox, Josh Gad, and Tatiana Maslany through a virtual platform on July 28, 2020.

The nominations have been listed, and it looks like all the eyes will be on HBO’s Watchmen. The super superhero drama scored a whopping 26 nominations. The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel has also put in its best foot forward as usual with 20 nominations, and Ozark has an impressive 18.

Netflix has also caught about 160 nominations this time.
