Genichi Mitsuhashi, a man from Japan has set the record of being the first person in the world to have a master’s degree in ninja studies; he completed a graduate course that involved learning elementary martial arts and how to climb mountains stealthily.

Genichi Mitsuhashi, a 45-year-old man, finished his training at the country’s Mie University. He gave two years for the graduation in ninja studies. He learned the history, the traditions, and the fighting methods of ninjas, also the mysterious secret agents of feudal Japan. Mitsuhashi is a great student as he has proven to be the role model for the other graduate students who study Ninja.

Mitsuhashi is known for his secrecy skills, also masters of espionage, sabotage, assassination, and guerrilla warfare dating back to at least the 14th century.
The Ninja Mitsuhashi said that ninjas are also farmers, self-sufficient farmers; he set an example by cultivating his rice and vegetables in Iga.

He is a well-trained ninja in kung fu and known to the art of Japanese martial art. For a living, he has a local shop to sell his crops, grown by him in Iga. Mitsuhashi said on earning that living independently for our survival and prosperity is essential for modern Japan

Iga is 220 miles away from the Japanese capital Tokyo, where Ninja used to live earlier. He said that the climate of this hilly area created the very nature of Ninja. And he went to the high province mountains of Iga, to better understand how they lived.

Mitsuhashi started his studies for the master’s degree in 2018, a year later Mie University established the first-ever ninja studies center- International Ninja Research Center in Iga. According to their professor, they have only three students per year for the course.

Mie University offers history, traditional fighting, and survival skills for the students to pursue. Including essential martial arts and teaching how to cross rocky areas while remaining undetected.

Mitsuhashi’s Professor of Ninja studies, Yuji Yamada, foremostly said that the course is learning about the Ninja, not becoming the one.
He also shared that Mitsuhashi was a devotee student who has dedicated his life to Ninja. In the future, he wants to pursue a doctoral degree in ninja studies.
