On 7th May 2020, the embassy of Israel in India shared a picture on twitter, announcing a street in Tel Aviv named after Rabindranath Tagore. Rabindranath Tagore’s words left an impact not just in India but across borders too. His contribution to mankind is known and appreciated worldwide.
The naming of the street was done to pay homage to the poet’s contribution. In 1913, he became the first Indian to receive Nobel Prize. He had a huge impact on Indians in the battle for freedom. The British government tried to offer him Knighthood, but he refused it. He has filled the youth of the country with courage and will to fight and raise a voice, created a rebel out of his readers by inspiring them.
Even today’s youth consider him as the epitome of literature and take inspiration from him. After so many decades, his piece of works is still relevant to the youth of the country.
