Aniston made her Instagram debut with an epic selfie featuring her “Friends” costars, which she captioned: “And now we’re Instagram FRIENDS too. HI INSTAGRAM.”
Jennifer received a warm welcome from her fans and friends, who seemed ecstatic about the fact that they wouldn’t have to “hashtag” her anymore and could simply tag her in posts. After the selfie went viral, Jennifer gained a million followers within just a couple of hours. Now, her account her 8.9 million followers and one single post.
Aniston’s page was available Tuesday afternoon, but some users had problems accessing it in the morning, Instagram acknowledged in an email.
“We are aware that some people were having issues following Jen’s profile,” a representative wrote. “We are thrilled to have this ‘Friend’ as part of the Instagram community! As of now, people should be able to access and follow her profile with no problems.”
The 50-year-old actor was 25 when she began to play Rachel Green on the hit sitcom, which ran for 10 seasons. This month Aniston dismissed the possibility of a Friends movie. “Our producers wouldn’t want it, wouldn’t let us,” she said. “It would have been fun. But whatever. Maybe it’s better this way, but we’ll never know.”
