Bollywood ace director Anubhav Sinha announced that he has had ‘enough’ and is resigning from Bollywood. Anubhav Sinha, who had created a mark with three critically acclaimed films- ‘Mulk,’ ‘Article 15’, and ‘Thappad,’ has tweeted this shocking announcement.
In a series of tweets, director Anubhav Sinha declared that he is quitting Bollywood. He wrote the word “enough” in uppercase, indicating the burst of visible rage surrounding Bollywood and temper flaring on the debate on insiders versus outsiders.
Soon after he made the announcement, the director changed his Twitter name, which now says: Anubhav Sinha (Not Bollywood).
Anubhav Singh’s tweets were backed by his friends Sudhir Mishra and Hansal Mehta.
Filmmaker Sudhir Mishra, known for directing films like ‘Chameli’ and ‘Dharavi,’ tagged his contemporaries and urged them all to leave Bollywood and move towards Hindi Cinema. In another tweet, he has mentioned the names of great filmmakers such as Satyajit Ray, Raj Kapoor, Bimal Roy, and many more. Sudhir wrote that he joined the film industry inspired by these legendary filmmakers.
Filmmaker Hansal Mehta, known for directing movies like ‘Shahid’ and ‘The Accidental Prime Minister,’ said that he has already left Bollywood. For him, “it never existed in the first place.”
Anubhav Sinha’s admirers are decoding the tweets and trying to figure out what could happen to him. Many believed that the director is trying to tell that he will not be a part of any group of Bollywood. This may be related to the recent social media outrage on Nepotism.
His followers are requesting him not to quit making films. One of the fans asked, “ Then who will make movies like Mulk, Article 15 and Thappad?”
Anubhav Sinha’s recent work has been highly admired for exploring various contemporary issues of society. It is not sure what could have evoked him to take such a step.

Anubhav Sinha started his journey in Bollywood as an assistant of Indian filmmaker Pankaj Parashar who is well-known for directing movies like ‘ChaalBaaz’ and Tv serials like ‘Karamchand.’ He assisted Pankaj Parashar in the 90s for various Tv commercials.
Anubhav made his directorial debut with romance drama ‘Tum Bin’ (2001) under Tseries Music Label. Though the movie didn’t receive much appreciation, the songs were a hit. Tum Bin’s music is still fondly remembered by people.
Then he went on to make commercial action films such as ‘Dus,’ ‘Cash,’ and ‘Ra.One’. According to Anubhav, Shah Rukh Khan starrer Ra. One is the biggest film in the history of Bollywood. He further said that films like these could exhaust anyone physically and emotionally.
The director took a long break after Ra.One. His comeback was accompanied by a change in scripts and inclination towards realistic cinema.
Anubhav now focuses on meaningful cinema and has directed three back-to-back movies that carry a serious tone and based on the realistic setting.

Talking about his latest film, he said that Anek is a new-age movie and is not similar to what he has done in the past.
As per the sources, the shooting was scheduled in March, but the lockdown has pushed the dates.
